Panel considers 10% pay cut for state lawmakers

Citizens Compensation Commission chairman recommends another drop in pay and benefits, after an 18% reduction last year. The cuts would also apply to the governor and other state officials.

Months after California legislators had their pay and benefits cut 18%, the head of a state panel that sets salaries proposed Tuesday that elected officials lose 10% more in response to the continuing budget crisis.
